Subject: my first show
my first show.. thanks for the soundboards.. I remember doing a dope deal with someone at a gas station at 96th & highway 37 then heading for the show. A guy jumped in the back seat of our car after we'd parked and gave us some bumper stickers and said "give me $3 or I'll blow up your car while you're in the show." We paid. Didn't really know what was going on but I remember a lot of people disco dancing outside a microbus with speakers.. went to the show and were duly blown the hell away. I remember walking out of the gates and hearing hissing.. my first intro to nitrous. We went up and partied at Pine Lakes that night and then did the next two nights and hustled our way to RFK. Thanks for the soundboard, it means a lot to me! ps- I am an Indy head.. wish I had gotten on the bus a lot sooner!!

Thanks to all involved with this super fine recording of a nice show, From the band to the taper, the crowd, and the person that uploaded. I never did care for Black Peter, I admit there are several songs I would rather not hear in the Dead catalog. Sometimes though, everything comes together and I will hear a version of a song that makes me change my mind and like it, this is what happened with Black Peter at this show. For some reason I got it, it clicked, it was one of those "inspirational" moments. It is funny that a song I dreaded seeing and hearing at a show for so many years was turned into one of my favorites at the blink of an eye. I love the whole scene, the entire GD experience, the good and the bad, its a package deal.
I must digress, I have issues with what is currently going on with Furthur. I feel Bob is going a bit too far. It is insulting to fans in my opinion to do Jerry tunes in the manner and to the extent that he is doing. It is wrong on several levels. But I still go and enjoy it all. As I said with the good comes the bad, yin yang, etc. Saw a couple of Furthur shows last year-one was just a show, the other was pretty damn good. Also have to say Billy and Micky's Band Rhythm Devils with the line up from late summer to the January Jam cruise was smoking hot! Just incredible. I am looking forward to seing the line up with Steve Kimock and Kellr Williams this summer 2011. Enough rambling. Thanks for the music folks!!!
